About this workshop:

Join us for a panel discussion with three esteemed women teachers of Buddhism who will delve into the intricacies of cultivating healthy boundaries within the spiritual community.  As we explore the theme of navigating boundaries, our panelists will touch upon various aspects, including fostering healthy relationships, educating our communities, and addressing challenges.

Reverend Byakuren Judith Ragir will speak about the embodiment of practice in relationships with an emphasis on Sila (Ethics), highlighting the often-overlooked precepts, which include the healing of our often traumatized psyche as a legitimate part of liberation.  Reverend Grace Schireson will share her insights into dealing with sensitive ethical issues within sanghas, shedding light on the importance of understanding personal and social dynamics and maintaining appropriate relationships among all leaders and members.  Pamela Weiss will draw on stories from early Buddhist women to explore the importance of balancing masculine and feminine energies, how imbalances in these energies impact Buddhist communities, and how we can create more harmonious, inclusive practice spaces.

Reverend Ben Connelly (SZBA-DEIA Committee Member) will moderate the event.  Don't miss this enriching conversation on nurturing healthy boundaries and fostering a sense of unity within the Buddhist community.
