The 2018 Soto Zen Buddhist Association Conference
55 and Under Meeting
Tuesday, September 18th (5:00pm) - Wednesday, September 19th (5:00pm)
All members of the Soto Zen Buddhist Association who are 55 years old or younger are invited to attend a one-day pre-conference meeting. Both full and associate members are invited.
At the 2016 SZBA Conference, younger priests met for a discussion over lunch. Though time was limited and the discussion was just getting started when we had to move to the next event, many people reported this lunch as the highlight their entire conference. Someone raised the idea of a one-day meeting prior to the 2018 general conference. This meeting is the result of that request.
Space will be limited at this gathering, so please go ahead and register and pay if you plan on coming. This meeting will be held off-site, near Zen Mountain Monastery, but not on the premises. (Details to follow in the coming weeks.) The price we have set will not cover all the expenses, but the board feels it is important to make this day affordable. Scholarship funding is available if needed.
We hope to see you on September 18!
